Effective Date: 11/6/ 2025
Clear iQ, Inc. (“Clear iQ,” “us”, “we”, or “our”) operates https://www.cleariq.net (the “Site”) and provides Clear iQ Workspace and other related services (collectively, the “Services”). We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it. This Privacy Policy describes how we handle information when you use our custom visuals (Simple Dynamic Date Slicer) for Microsoft Power BI, as well as when you use other Services.
By accessing or using our Custom Visuals or Services, you agree to the practices outlined below. If you do not agree, you should stop using the Custom Visuals and the Services.
1) Scope & Applicability
This Policy applies to all Clear iQ Custom Visuals that we publish or distribute (e.g., via Microsoft AppSource) and to our Site and Services generally. Where your organization deploys our Custom Visuals within its own Microsoft Power BI environment, this Policy should be read together with your organization’s privacy and security policies.
- Applies to: all Clear iQ Custom Visuals, including the Simple Dynamic Date Slicer.
- Also covers: your interactions with the Site and with Clear iQ Workspace and related Services.
2) What We Collect
We collect only the information that you choose to share with us. This may include details you provide when:
- Creating or updating an account
- Signing in through a third‑party authentication provider
- Sharing data or collaborating within your Clear iQ workspace
- Completing an inquiry form on our Site
Custom Visuals data handling. In typical deployments, Clear iQ does not receive or store the report data rendered by a Custom Visual. Our Custom Visuals execute within your Power BI environment and operate on data supplied by that environment. We do not transmit your report data to Clear iQ servers, unless (i) a particular feature explicitly connects to a Clear iQ or third‑party service that you or your administrator enable, or (ii) your organization configures such connectivity. When connectivity is enabled, only the data necessary to provide that feature is transmitted.
We do not automatically monitor or store the content you manage inside the platform beyond what is necessary to operate the Services.
3) Log Data (Site & Services)
Like many site operators, we collect information that your browser sends whenever you visit our Site (“Log Data”). This Log Data may include information such as your computer’s Internet Protocol (“IP”) address, browser type, browser version, the pages of our Site that you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on those pages and other statistics. We may use third‑party services (e.g., Google Analytics) to collect, monitor, and analyze this data for the purposes described in Section 5.
Note: Log Data generally pertains to your interactions with the Site or Services that communicate with our servers. Using a Custom Visual inside your organization’s Power BI environment does not, by itself, send report data to Clear iQ.
4) Cookies (Site Only)
Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device. Like many sites, we use cookies on the Site to collect information. You can instruct your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. However, if you do not accept cookies, you may not be able to use some portions of the Site.
5) How We Use Your Information
The information you provide is used strictly to:
- Enable the core functionality of Clear iQ Services and Custom Visuals
- Maintain and improve platform performance, reliability, and user experience
- Support secure collaboration and visualization features
- Provide newsletters, marketing or promotional materials, and other information related to our products and services
We do not sell your data to others, and we do not repurpose it for unrelated activities.
6) When Information Is Shared
We do not share your information with third parties except when necessary to deliver the Services—for example, with infrastructure providers that host or support Clear iQ systems, or with Microsoft’s marketplace and licensing systems for distribution of Custom Visuals. When sharing is necessary, those providers are required to protect your information under strict confidentiality and security obligations.
If a specific Custom Visual feature involves an integration with a third party (e.g., a connector or external API that you or your administrator enable), we will share only the minimum necessary information to provide that feature, subject to the third party’s terms.
7) Safeguarding Your Data
Where personal details such as account credentials are stored, Clear iQ applies multiple safeguards, including encryption, strict access controls, and industry‑standard infrastructure protections. Our security practices are designed to prevent unauthorized access, misuse, or data loss.
Your organization is responsible for configuring and governing access to datasets, reports, and dashboards within Power BI. We recommend reviewing Microsoft’s guidance for securing Power BI environments and applying your organization’s data governance policies.
8) Your Role as a User
You are responsible for ensuring your use of Clear iQ Custom Visuals and Services complies with applicable laws and regulations. Intellectual property rights in the Custom Visuals and Services remain the property of Clear iQ. If any part of this Policy is found unenforceable, the remaining terms will continue to apply. This Policy is governed by U.S. law, and any disputes will be resolved in courts located within the applicable jurisdiction.
9) Children’s Privacy
Our Custom Visuals and Services are not directed to individuals under the age of 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
